Napoleon Yogurt Melts by Mom De Cuisine

The week before we left Floridato move toBahrainwe had to make a trip down toOrlandoto ship one of our cars. We decided while we were there, it would be a good opportunity to head to Sea World one last time.

After we spent a few hours having every detail of our SUV inspected for shipment, we headed over to Sea World where we spent several more hours. At the end of the day, we headed back to the hotel and my husband decided to take C to pick up some dinner. While they were gone, M and I decided to check out the hotel swimming pool. When my little fishy and I finally made it back to the room, the boys had already finished dinner and my husband was letting C finish a large coke for dessert. Before you react, rest assured that I had the same response: “WHAT?!?!? YOU LET HIM HAVE COKE?!?!?” My husband, the fun parent, responded, “Relax….we’re on vacation.”

Well, many hours later, M was knocked out and my husband and I were both exhausted. But guess who was still awake, jumping up and down on the bed. Yup, C was still going full speed. At first my husband was amused, but as the hours (yes, hours) past and my little “soda gulper “was still no where near sleep, my husband thought this wasn’t so funny anymore. Sometimes it feels good when you don’t even have to say, “I told ya so…”

So what in the world does this little story have to do with these yogurt melts? Well when I made that Turkish Coffee Ice Cream, the kids were desperate to have a scoop. Ha! Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice…

Needless to say, I thought it was only fair to make them something too. I thought I’d try three different flavors. The chocolate was the most popular, but the kids enjoyed the other flavors as well.

Napoleon Yogurt Melts Recipe

Type Dessert, Snack


  • 3 cups yogurt
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup strawberries, stems removed
  • honey to taste


Divide yogurt into thirds.
Melt the chocolate in a double broiler. Allow the chocolate to cool slightly and mix in 1/3 of the yogurt until blended. Sweeten with honey if desired.
Puree the strawberries until smooth. Mix strawberries with 1/3 of the yogurt until combined. Sweeten with honey if desired.
Line a baking sheet with parchment. Put each flavor of yogurt into a piping bag. Pipe out circles on the parchment lined sheet.
Freeze 3-4 hours, or until the melts are hard. Serve immediately.

If you don’t want to serve the melts as soon as they are frozen, you can place them in an air tight container and they keep for up to 1 week. I would recommend each flavor in its own container, or else they may stick together and blend a bit.
