With the housing market showing an increase for the first time in months people may once again be thinking shall i sell my house or just make it better. With many still not sure how the market is going to go I thought I would look at the centre piece or heart to any home the Kitchen. Whether you have a fitted kitchen a bespoke Handmade Kitchen or an individually chosen array of kitchen units, the space needs to be the best for you.

It may appear like small things but anything that you consider doesn’t work for you should be jotted down and set aside ready for when you actually do start Kitchen Planning. A kitchen when set out correctly makes working within it an absolute pleasure instead of having the usual conflicts of not being able to lean somewhere without being in the way. By making sure that a kitchen has spaces within it that people can chill in and at the same time refining the work spaces to work more intuitively can make all the difference to this most central of hubs.

Fitted Kitchens should only be bought if you know that the individual selling you that particular style of kitchen knows how a kitchen should work and that some things will work and other set ups wont. From the cooker itself there should be a really defined working triangle that gives you space to prepare food, an area to cook the food and a space to wash and get rid of the scraps and preparation cast off’s. Any job that you do is simpler if you have the correct tools to do it with, in this way you can ensure that any jobs you do in the kitchen can either be fast preps or just long extended relaxing experiences.

For myself with most fitted kitchens I have carried out any cooking in the main downfall I have found with them is that they are frequently really hard to negotiate around. Making it very difficult to work fluidly and in some instances safely, we have a little lad and you need an area to be safe so that any children aren’t tripped over or stood on or worse have something dropped on them. Design can always ensure that things like this don’t happen with the addition of separate areas you can ensure you have a space that can be just for eating and an area you can separate off with a simple gate to ensure you can work safely. I hope this is article is of use my name is David Harland.
